This itinerary starts from the Plaça del Conqueridor square in Artà town centre and makes for the Artà Caves (Coves d’Artà) and Canyamel. Until km 10.2 the road is flat and presents no problems until 1 km from the Artà Caves (km 11.6) when it starts to rise, going back over the same road for part of the way. It then continues to Capdepera and before entering the village, turns back towards Artà, heading for Cala Torta cove. The road starts to climb, first gradually and then more steeply over a longer and more pronounced gradient until reaching Coll del Racó hill (between kms 28.8 and 31.2), with the elevation on this stretch alone rising 120 m. Around 2 km further on (at km 33.3) you reach the Sa Duaia lookout point. This ends the first stretch of the route and you turn back towards Artà.
Once back in Artà the next port of call is the Betlem Hermitage. At km 44.7 a steady climb of 2.3 kilometres begins up the slopes around the hermitage (rising 169 m in all) until you reach the summit. Go down to the sanctuary then retrace your steps back to Artà.
